About Us

mineral mission

Quincy Materials Corporation is an advanced materials processing company that recovers mission critical metals, minerals and materials from legacy mining operations. Quincy Materials transforms these feedstocks into high value materials for US manufacturing and infrastructure.

Rooted in engineering excellence and inspired by American mining heritage, Quincy Materials was  founded on a simple but powerful belief: the resources of yesterday can be used to build tomorrow.

By combining advanced process engineering, materials science, and real-world operating experience, we are redefining how historic industrial waste can be reclaimed, upgraded, and returned to the economy as mission critical metals, minerals and materials.

Our Origins: Mason-Grey Corporation

For over twenty years, Mason-Grey has provided process engineering and controls expertise to American Industry.  Leveraging that deep pedigree, Mason-Grey embarked on a mission to develop high-value, beneficiated materials from legacy mine tailings using advanced process engineering and practical field expertise.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Mason-Grey pioneers innovative approaches to transforming historical mining tailings into high-performance industrial inputs. This work laid the technical and commercial foundation for Quincy Materials and its drive to beneficiate metals, minerals and materials from mining tailings.

By processing materials from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Quincy Materials is able to produce high purity copper and other materials.  Quincy Materials’s commitment to innovation led to the development of QuinCEM™ 2.0, a finely ground basalt-derived Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM) that delivers natural pozzolanic performance, mitigates Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR), and provides measurable improvements in concrete performance.

By demonstrating that reclaimed materials can outperform traditional SCMs —Mason-Grey and Quincy Materials helped establish a new paradigm for sustainable construction materials.

Expanding the Vision:
Quincy Materials

To unlock the full potential of vast legacy mining deposits in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, Mason-Grey launched Quincy Materials in 2025.

Quincy Materials is dedicated to reprocessing copper-laden stamp sands — representing an estimated 200–400 billion pounds of historical tailings — into two high-value, market-ready product streams:

  • High-purity copper, supporting U.S. electrification, infrastructure modernization, and domestic defense supply chains

  • Basalt-derived SCM, engineered to meet ASTM C618 and ASTM C1567 standards and serve rapidly growing construction markets across the US, Canadian and International markets.

Together, these products transform a long-standing environmental liability into a strategic domestic resource.

Our MISSION

Quincy Materials’ mission is clear: to transform abandoned mining tailings into high-purity copper and sustainable SCM products — while removing mining tailings from the environment and reinvigorating local economies.

The company’s forthcoming commercialization project, along with a planned 200-TPH full-scale processing facility, represents one of the most ambitious and forward-looking resource-recovery initiatives currently underway in North America.

A SHARED Resolve
